Calling for Assistance with Inktober!

Next month starts one of my favorite art challenges, Inktober! Created by Jake Parker, this is a month-long challenge to work on your inking technique! If you would like to learn more about the rules, head to my post about the Inktober Challenge!

The other day the official prompts of Inktober, created by Jake Parker, were posted on Instagram. The social media of choice for most of the artists that participate in this challenge.

Now, I have a request to ask you. Last year I created a series of Pokemon ink drawings that combined my favorite of each type and the official prompts. This year I would like to do a similar thing, but with the subject matter of monsters and fairy tales.

So my question for you is what types of monsters would you like to see me draw?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated as I’m working right now to decide how I want to combine the two together. Monsters from video games, books, and board games are acceptable suggestions as well.

If you would like to join me in Inktober, I would love for you to add your instagram account down below (or wherever you plan to post your work) in the comment section so that I can start following you and we can have fun together!

Thank you,

Jessi, the ArtsyRobotz

  1. Lovecraftian monsters are always a fave of mine…plus tentacles are so much fun to draw and ink haha! Best of luck with Inktober – I’m off to follow you on Instagram so I can keep up! I’ll be participating as well; hoping to complete it again this year!

  2. Well, I mean dragons are always cool, but beyond that doing weird mash-ups like chimeras couls be cool. Or go through different mythological monsters from various countries/regions.

On a related note- I’m also doing Inktober this year! I’m doing general fantasy/scifi stuff. It’ll be fun :).

    1. Thank you for the suggestions! I’ll definitely be adding Dragons and Chimeras to the list.

Sweet! Are you going to be posting your work online? I would like to see how they turn out.

  3. I was going to say a Minotaur, as I don’t see them getting drawn all that often, but then I looked at your portfolio and saw you’d already tackled that… and a ghosthunting one, no less! So what about… a Bugbear?
