One of my favorite hobbies is playing role playing games with friends. And now that I know my latest gal is here to stay (at least for this campaign), I wanted to share my latest, and wildest RPG character.

Set in Fearun, we find my Aasimar Druid as we try a west march style campaign. (Originally she started as a Rogue, but a “hiccup” cause her to be a Druid in this new timeline.) This style has been an interesting change up as it leads to more players overall rotating between the sessions. Honestly it’s a nice way to combat scheduling as an adult, but I digress.
Below I did a little Q&A setup to share a bit about her personality. If there are any questions you would like to add, share them with me in the comments!
What Inspired Her?
When creating this character, I wanted to combine my Appalachian history with my newfound love of folk horror as well as having an overall witchy aesthetic. As some might know, religion can be a big part of mountain living, so having her highly religious felt like a tribute, though who she worships is a little twisted, leading to the folk horror of her. The aasimar is a bit of plot twist everyone but Saffron knows. She truly believes she got her wings as a thank you from her goddess.

What are some of her favorite things?
Rainy days, making charms and wards, wildlife, Owl, and folk tales. The scarier the better.
What are some things she hates?
Research, being stuck to one place, money, but mostly folk’s dismissal of her goddess.
What’s Her Biggest Flaw?
Her strong belief in Beshaba, the Goddess of Bad Luck.
She is confident that her goddess is leading her to her fate and won’t question why a monster is in her way, just that she should walk the other way. I would argue she sees it as a strength, but as a player I recognize the potential for character growth here. It’s only recently upon meeting this party that she’s starting to think that you might need to face these critters to protect others that might not be able to just walk away. In a way, she’s been on autopilot for a while, and is just now starting to understand her own power to change the world.

I’ve found she has a story I very much want to draw, and wanted to bring all the pieces I’ve created so far to one place. I did leave a few out that have her angelic form…mainly cause it is a little morbid and different from the cozy vibes I like to share here.
The characters my friends made for this campaign all have such captivating stories, and maybe one day I can share a bit of their tales here as well! Wouldn’t that be cool?!
