Hello! Hope everyone’s having a good week so far! How are your pet projects coming along? Hopefully they’re going awesomely, but if not, don’t fret. I’ve learned that most of the time mistakes help make the project more unique and personal. 🙂
Speaking of pet projects, I haven’t completed my patterned cat from last weeks work in progress update, but this one became more of a priority, so I started working on him last night. (Though I’m really close to being done with the cat and I’m so excited to complete it!)
There’s still not much to him yet, but already I’m excited to see how he turns out. I’m right now working on the rough draft of the outlines for this character. I usually just try to perfect the lines before moving forward. I hope his creator enjoys the version of him I’m creating.
How did I get on this project? Well, as some might know from past blog posts, I just graduated from college, and slowly working on trying to organize my finances. I also help run a group of local gamers, and my fiance is one of the DMs of the group. We don’t have the money to buy some of the D&D books my group would like to play, so I created a sort of fundraiser in the group. Any money they donate to helping my fiance and myself buy these books, I’ll draw a picture for them. Depending on how much they donate depended on how much time I plan to put into their drawing. This character is one of the first I plan on drawing since his creator was the first to help towards our goal. Which I very much appreciate!
So that’s what I’ve been up to, and we’ll see how this pet project affects my others, but for now, baby steps!
Side Note: If you would like to keep up with my progress on this and my other projects (i.e. Boards & Crafts), check out my instagram account or twitter account. My instagram is full of pictures of my work in progress, behind the scenes, and completed works. My twitter, on the other hand, is where I talk about my latest obsessions, board games, and other misc. thoughts!
