Coloring books are fantastic. They are a way to help relax after a long day at work. Or they can be a way to have fun and let your creativity run wild. After you get done with a book, or even just a page, what happens to it? It could stay there and wait to be tossed into the recycling bin. Or it can be used to help make your everyday life a little more colorful!

For example, I recently got into Bullet Journaling. I grabbed the closest notebook I could find and just started. The notebook is like the ones used in school to take notes. In other words, it just has a red cover, which is very boring. I want to improve it a bit, and what better way to do that than to use one of the coloring pages I finished?!

Supplies:

• Scissors (Mine got attacked by my pup, so no pic.)
• Colored coloring page
• Notebook
• Paint Palette (or something to put the Mod Podge into)
• Mod Podge
• Sponge Brush
• Optional:
  • Scalpel
  • Washi Tape

Step 1: Take your colored page out of the coloring book. Some books make this easy, but you might need to use the scissors to cut it out. (I did this before starting. So that’s why this photo is the same as the one seen in my supply list…)

Step 2: Glue the page unto the notebook cover. Let it dry for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3: Put a layer of mod podge on top of the page as well.

Step 4: Cut off the rough edges if there are any. Optional: Use a scalpel as well to help make the edges more smooth.

Step 5: (OPTIONAL) Use washi tape around the edges to make it stay on better. Or just for the flair of it.

Tips & Tricks with This Project:

• If you used ink pens or markers to color your coloring page, the mod podge will make it smear, ruining your beautiful artwork. I suggest using coloring pencils and crayons for the coloring if you would like to do this project.
• The cover will look best if you use a coloring page that has only one drawing on each page (like there is no design on the front & back of the sheet). Or if your coloring page is made of thick paper.
• The cover would also probably look better on a composition notebook. But I much prefer this over a plain red notebook, so I’m happy with it.
