As some may know from my social media, I’ve been playing dungeons & dragons a lot as of late.
But how can I not?! It’s such a great way to hang out with friends during quarantine! And the storytelling capabilities, oh! I need to stop myself before I go full fan-mode on it. To say the least, adventuring in this world of imagination has become one of the most inspiring experiences I’ve had.
Actually, today’s new design was inspired by a pun I thought of while playing D&D.
It’s one of my pun-iest creations yet and is now available in my Redbubble & Society 6 shops!
THE STORY BEHIND THE DESIGN:
After one especially rough day of adventuring, my D&D party set up camp with defeat. Bruised and battered, my wizard started making tea to soothe her bruised ego before bed. But then, she noticed the fighter across the campfire also brewing his own tea to help temper his anger, the monk drinking some to wean the major hangover he had from before the fight, and the druid and ranger asking for their own cup of her brew, hoping to find some comfort in the tea as well.
It was at this moment that the direction changed for how our party interacted with each other. We started looking out for each other, supporting one another during rough times, and craving each other’s company when there was something to celebrate.
The design below is actually the second version of this design. The original was created as a Christmas gift for this adventuring crew eventually known as the Dragon Tea Party. We were about halfway through the campaign but I already knew I wanted to create something to remember us all by.
But it’s just too good of a pun not to share. XD So I created a second version to share with y’all!
