Hello!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! I got snowed in from our latest winter storm Jonas, and kinda got stuck in my apartment. Which turned out to be awesome for me because this craft took longer than I thought to complete it!
Just to get a little backstory, a couple of months ago I came across some mesh pencil holders at a yard sale that I knew could be made more personal than if I bought a pencil holder in a store. Plus, they had a great price on them so I couldn’t resist the buy.
I also have had some embroidery thread that I had no plans of using and was just sitting in my craft stuff for the past couple of months. By combining these two random item, I was able to make my pencil holders be a little more my style! Read below to learn how you can make your own!
What You Need:
- Embroidery Thread
- A needle that the embroidery thread can go through (Optional but makes the process go by quicker)
- Mesh Pencil Holder
How to Create It:
- Tie the end of the embroidery thread and weave it into the mesh pencil holder.
- Experiment with what type of pattern you would like in it. I ended up making mine look like a basket weave.
- Keep weaving the thread through the mesh until you like the way the thread looks in the cup.
- That’s it!
It took me about ten hours to get this done. The process was tedious, but in the end I think it was worth it. I’m sorry that I don’t really know how to go into more detail with this project, so if you have any questions I was not able to answer, comment below or e-mail me at artsyrobotz@gmail.com.
Thank you all for reading, and I hope you have a great day!
I love it!! Great idea!
